if you stay too long
among those golden snowflakes
falling like roses
in that other world
so peaceful so sweet
so uninterrupted
white face
appearing through a filigree of ice
I call
from rocks and ploughshares
sun and blood
what if that phrase
sank into white noise
and that clear gaze
surely one gets hungry
in oblivion
cold
I know you don’t get lonely
at the border of sensation
but slowly
without exactly living
you get old
