I lie perfectly still
my legs submerged
in the mulled profundity
of bath salts and water
encased in white ceramic.
By the optics of immersion
my legs are made museum prototypes.
The top half of my feet,
breaking the perfect rim
are pink amphibian protrusions.
While pointing upwards,
due to the magic of reflection,
at the same time they grow down.
I am a woman of my times,
my best feet
both forwards and backwards.
